Atrial Fibrillation - An Overview for the Non-Cardiologist

Atrial fibrillation is one of the most common arrythmias. Treatment is essential to avoid the serious complications that can occur from atrial fibrillation. Faculty will provide a comprehensive review on management of atrial fibrillation including rhythm control, as well as stroke risk management. There will be discussions regarding medical management as well as procedural options. Some of the procedural options that will be discussed are ablation and left atrial appendage occlusion devices.

Target Audience

The intended audience is Trident Medical Staff Non-Cardiology Physicians. 

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify how to manage atrial fibrillation.
  • Recognize how to handle rhythm control.
  • Ability to give examples of how to manage stroke risk management.
  • Develop their medical management skills and use of procedural options devices.
