Activity Description:
Technological advances have been made in vascular ultrasound imaging and reporting. Physicians and sonographers who are using older standards are not providing accurate interpretations. Our purpose in meeting is to improve vascular ultrasound imaging, reading, and reports to improve the diagnosis of vascular disease for reading physicians and sonographers alike. To accomplish this goal, we will be hosting an ongoing quarterly hour (1) long in-person and virtual meeting/conference for both physicians and sonographers, where we will present varying topics related to vascular ultrasound imaging and interpretation.
Target Audience:
MD/DO and Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
Learning Objectives:
- Present new standards and technological advances in vascular ultrasound imaging and interpretation.
- Demonstrate an enhanced ability to accurately interpret vascular ultrasound images and reports, effectively identifying key anatomical structures, pathologies, and clinical implications, thereby improving the overall quality of patient care.
- Perform quality assurance/accuracy of vascular ultrasound exams using comparison to gold standards (i.e. CT/angiography/surgical findings and by the review of pertinent cases and their coordinating exams, treatments, and outcomes).
- Outline the diagnosis of vascular disease for reading physicians and sonographers alike.
