Mark McKenney

Dr. Mark G. McKenney graduated from The University of Michigan Medical School. He did his surgical residency at William Beaumont Hospital and his fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care and Trauma Surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami. After his training, he joined the University of Miami faculty working at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the Ryder Trauma Center. He rose through the ranks and became Professor of Surgery, Medical Director of the Ryder Trauma Center and Chief of Surgery. In 2011 he joined HCA Florida Kendall Hospital as the Chief of Trauma and in 2014 he was the founding Program Director of the General Surgery Residency Program. He has published 5 books and over 350 research articles. He has received over $4,000,000 in research funding. His research has been recognized both nationally and internationally, culminating in the Koster Memorial Award, given to the top scientist in North America. Twice his research has been recognized by Yearbook, which reviews over 12,000 publications and selects the top 150 articles. He is currently Professor of Surgery at the University of South Florida, the Chief of Trauma Surgery at Kendall Hospital and also the Program Director of the General Surgery Program.
