Hamzah Saei, MD

Dr. Hamzah Saei is a distinguished physician specializing in vascular and interventional neurology, currently serving as Neuroscience Medical Director within the HCA network. A graduate of Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara School of Medicine, Dr. Saei completed his neurology residency and vascular neuorology fellowship at Albany Medical College in New York in 2017. He joined HCA Rio Grande Regional Hospital in the fall of 2017 as the first neurohospitalist and stroke program director, where he led the hospital to achieve Primary Association/American Stroke Association from 2018 through 2025, reflecting sustained excellence in stroke care. Driven by a passion for advancing neurointerventional treatment, Dr. Saei returned for neuroendovascular surgery fellowship in 2021, completing it in 2024. He played a pivotal role in building the neuroendovascular programs at Rio Grande Regional Hospital (RGRH) and Valley Regional Medical Center (VRMC) and was instrumental in recruiting a multidisciplinary team including neurohospitalists, neurosurgeons, and neurocritical care specialists. Beyond the hospital walls, Dr. Saei is a community advocate and organizer of Rio Grande Regional Hospital's annual stroke SK, promoting stroke awareness. He is also a proud husband and father to three daughters, and an entrepreneur-owning an international market and restaurant that reflect his deep ties to culture and community.
