Valley Regional Medical Center 1st Annual Stroke Symposium
LIVE IN-PERSON ONLY
This multidisciplinary stroke symposium will explore the latest advances in stroke care including recognition, acute management, neuroendovascular modalities and post-acute care. Sessions will focus on evidence-based updates while addressing systems of care and strategies to reduce delays in stroke care. Through engaging case discussions and expert presenters the participants will gain knowledge and tools to provide coordinated care, optimize patient selection for advanced interventions and address challenges in accessing comprehensive stroke care.
Target Audience
This course is intended for Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Nurses, Prehospital Providers (paramedics and EMTs).
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the different types of stroke and list the signs and symptoms of stroke.
- Discuss the emerging data on the use thrombolytics up to 24 hours.
- Evaluate and discuss emerging trends on hematoma evacuation.
- Perform an accurate assessment for posterior circulation strokes and discuss new guidelines relating to treatment of mild or rapidly improving strokes.
