I'm the Division Perinatal Specialty Educator for the North Carolina Division of HCA Healthcare.  I started in Labor & Delivery at Mission in 2007 and transitioned to the educator role in 2022.  I have multiple certifications in the perinatal specialty, and I've taught AWHONN Fetal Monitoring classes for over 10 years.  In 2024, I was awarded the NC Great 100 Nurses award.  My education focuses on the high-risk areas in maternal health (obstetric hemorrhage and hypertensive crisis) as well as onboarding of staff new to the specialty.  Outside of my role as an educator, I have 2 teenage boys, and I am an avid reader that also enjoys yarn arts and quilting.
