Activity Description:

The purpose of the Morbidity and Mortality Conference is to provide a safe venue for Presbyterian St Luke's staff to identify areas of improvement, and promote professionalism, ethical integrity and transparency in assessing and improving patient care. The Morbidity and Mortality Conference presents cases in which a reportable event occurred, a conflict of importance occurred, and/or an event in which a mortality occurred. The discussion and analysis of the event(s) at the M&M conference contribute to a broader workflow, to establish and propose more effective guidelines in patient care.

Specialties - Hematology/Oncology, Oncology, Pathology

Learning Objective:

  • Implement evidence based medicine techniques and best practices
  • Acquire and apply knowledge of established and evolving basic and applied clinical sciences that relate to the practice of Hematology
  • Review case presentations and relate clinical guidelines and concepts that could be used to improve patient outcomes
