Activity Description:

This series will review data on complex pediatric cases that are reviewed by the attending staff of the pediatric, cardiology and cardiac surgery teams. The content of the series will focus on the best practices in management of patients for pediatric congenital cardiac surgery or catheterization lab intervention. Communicate best practices to improve the quality, safety diagnosis and treatment for complex pediatric cases. Discuss diagnostic, therapeutic and dilemmas that are presented each week. These discussions and analysis of cases contribute to establish and propose more effective guidelines in pediatric patient care.

Target Audience:

Pediatric Physicians, General Surgeons, Pediatric Surgeons, Pathologists, Radiologists, Pharmacists, Nurses  

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this Regularly Scheduled Series, participants should be able to:

  1. Effectively participate in the clinical management of patients with heart disease
  2. Interpret data and utilize interpretation in medical decision making
  3. Decide between surgical options for patients with heart disease
