Activity Description:
The conference will focus on how pediatric staff are able to safely care for a pediatric patient in their healthcare setting. Discuss effective communication skills directed to pediatric patients and their families. Presentations will include how to assess the pediatric patient, including basic triaging and different mental health conditions that are common in the adolescent population.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
1. Demonstrate effective communication and describe comfort techniques with the pediatric patient.
2. Give accurate assessment of a pediatric patient, including basic triaging.
3. Ability to describe mental health conditions common in the adolescent population.
