Activity Description:

Use of the latest medical and diagnostic practices to review difficult cases from the week. Discussions on the use of diagnostic immunohistochemistry and molecular diagnostic techniques which assist the pathologist in rendering a diagnosis. Use of special stains, cytometry data and cytogenetic data is incorporated as needed for diagnostic criteria.

Target Audience:

This course is designed for hospitalists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, advance practice nurses, registered nurses, allied health professionals, physicians and residents.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this course, learners should be able to:

  1. Apply knowledge learned to review cases utilizing current diagnostic criteria
  2. Apply feedback of professional consultants
  3. Utilization of immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, genetics and/or molecular studies judiciously to establish or confirm diagnoses
