Activity Description:

The series will provide an intensive, practical focus on evidence-based approaches to complex everyday problems that span the realm of clinical care  with emphasis on recent advances in the diagnosis and treatment strategies needed to improve clinical performance for the EMS provider. Dr. Kassai will be presenting on burn education and treatments. During this event Dr. Kassai will be highlighting the prevalence of burn injuries, the different types of burn injuries and treatments for these injuries.

Hospitalists, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Advance Practice Nurses, Registered Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, Physicians and Residents, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers.

Learning Objectives:

1. Describe the incidence of burns in the United States.
2. Illustrate the health burden due to burn injuries.
3. Define different types of burns and review burn classification systems.
4. Discuss emergency management strategies.
