Activity Description:

The purpose of this series is to have an in depth presentation and discussion of trauma specific topics and EIRMC trauma cases to establish a standard of care. In addition, trauma policy changes may be presented with new policy information and what drove the new policy. This will bridge the knowledge gap for clinical staff involved in the care of our trauma patients. This in turn, will improve patient care through collaboration with the health care team across disciplines and optimizing care, which will reduce adverse outcomes by ensuring standards of care understanding and accountability.

Target Audience: 

Physicians, APP, nurses, EMS, Allied Health Professionals

Learning Objectives:

  1. Recognize the uniqueness of trauma patients and apply current best practice when caring for the trauma patient.
  2. Utilize multi-discipline team collaboration to ensure standards of care are met while caring for trauma patients. 
  3. Identify the standards of care for trauma patients, by focusing on quality outcome and optimization of care for injured patients.
