This conference serves as an annual update on best practices and emerging trends in primary care, ensuring that healthcare providers remain at the forefront of medical advancements. - Discuss the latest treatment options for deep vein thrombosis (DVT).

“AI: The Double-Edged Scalpel” with Dr. Eric Zacharias
- Describe basic principles and applications of AI and machine learning and how these differ from traditional computer programs.
- Identify error pathways and concerns about using AI for medical tasks such as communication, documentation and decision support.
- Evaluate trends and implications of AI for patient safety, professional liability and regulatory policy, including currently unresolved questions about how legal theories of professional liability apply to AI-enabled applications.
1:00 – 3:00 p.m. “Women’s Heart Health, Heart Failure and AFib: What You Need to Know” with Drs. Arun Kahlon, Akhil Reddy and Charles Fuenzalida
- Identify gender differences in CVD epidemiology, morbidity and mortality.
- Discuss ideology of heart failure, outpatient management and when to refer for a higher level of care.
- Discuss the signs and symptoms of AFib and how to manage in the primary care setting.
