Acute Care Symposium
Two - Part Registration Process
LIVE Only
This comprehensive continuing medical education symposium, is designed to bridge the gap between pre-hospital intervention and definitive surgical care. In the high-stakes environment of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Clinical Care, the first sixty minutes—the "Golden Hour"—often dictate the patient's long-term trajectory. This conference moves beyond standard protocols, diving into the aggressive management of orthopedic catastrophes, precision burn resuscitation, and the neuro-resuscitation of the acute traumatic brain injury. Participants will transition from evidence-based didactic sessions in the morning to a Critical Skills Intensive in the afternoon. This immersive workshop focuses on "High-Risk, Low-Frequency" procedures, including surgical airways and junctional hemorrhage control. By synthesizing clinical theory with technical proficiency, this conference empowers providers to manage the most complex physiological threats with confidence and precision.
Target Audience
This activity is designed for healthcare professionals dedicated to the acute stabilization and transport of critically ill or injured patients, including:
- Emergency Medical Services: Paramedics, Flight Nurses, and Critical Care Transport Teams.
- Physicians: Emergency Medicine, Trauma Surgeons, Intensivists, and Anesthesiologists.
- Nursing: Emergency Department (ER) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurses.
- Advanced Practice Providers: Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners in Trauma and Acute Care Surgery.
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this symposium, learners should be able to:
- Identify and review life-saving interventions for non-compressible hemorrhage, refractory cardiac arrest (ECPR), and acute intracranial pressure surges to reduce preventable mortality.
- Examine individualized treatment plans for complex trauma, specifically applying modern hemodynamic strategies for major thermal injuries and neuro-protective goals in traumatic brain injury.
- Improve regional patient outcomes by synthesizing communication strategies and logistical workflows that facilitate the seamless transition of care from the point of injury to the trauma bay and ECMO-capable centers.
