This continuing education brings together primary care providers and nurse practitioners with a multidisciplinary panel of robotic surgery specialists spanning orthopedics, gynecology, general surgery, urology, and bariatric surgery to explore the clinical applications and evolving role of robotic-assisted surgery. The program is designed to deepen participants’ understanding of patient selection criteria, procedural benefits, and outcomes associated with robotic surgery, equipping attendees to make more informed referral decisions and counsel patients considering these approaches. Through specialty-specific panel discussion and open Q&A, participants will gain practical, cross-disciplinary insight into how robotic technology is changing surgical care within their community. Ultimately, the session aims to strengthen collaboration between primary care and surgical specialists in support of coordinated, patient-centered care.

Target Audience

This educational activity is designed for Primary Care Physicians and APP's.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Collaborate effectively with surgical specialists and multidisciplinary teams to improve care for patients receiving robotic-assisted surgery with the primary care setting. 
  • Describe the fundamentals of robotic assisted surgery technologies used across medical specialties. 
  • Identify patient selection criteria for robotic assisted surgery procedures.
