Eastern Idaho pediatric symposium, strengthening pediatric care across our community, a daylong education symposium featuring presentation from seven local, engaging pediatric specialist. Topics will include understanding and managing sick kids, common pediatric surgeries, pediatric trauma related to e-bike & e-scooters, practical pediatric endocrinology, pediatric burn management, inherited metabolic disorders, and screening for autism spectrum disorders. Speakers include our pediatric and trauma surgeons, local pediatric specialists in endocrinology and pediatric development and behavioral disorders, and our local pediatric hospitalist and intensivist.

Target Audience

Community pediatric providers, including pediatricians, pediatric registered nurses, and emergency responders.

Learning Objectives

  • Differentiate between different pediatric symptoms and managing different pediatric diagnostic challenges related to trauma, burn, metabolic disorders, endocrine disorders, and failure to thrive. 
  • Utilize tools to improve recognition of autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, metabolic disorders, endocrine disorders, and failure to thrive in pediatric patients. 
  • Manage comprehensive care plans for common pediatric surgical conditions, pediatric burn, pediatric trauma, pediatric endocrine disorders, pediatric metabolic disorders, and autism. 
  • Address unique therapeutic challenges for pediatric patients related to trauma, burn, metabolic disorders, endocrine disorders, failure to thrive, autism, and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
