Activity Description:
The Colorado Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) Quality and Standards team is offering training on C.R.S. 27-65 for providers. This training is designed for providers, clinicians, and 27-65 facility staff that want to learn more on the involuntary mental health process in Colorado. This training will cover updates to statute and M forms, emergency mental health holds, patient rights, clinical documentation of M-1's. This training will also include an overview of the involuntary process, and give providers space to ask specific questions regarding the recent changes to C.R.S. 27-65.
Target Audience:
This course is designed for hospitalists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, advance practice nurses, registered nurses, allied health professionals, physicians and residents.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe updates to C.R.S. 27-65 including M forms, patient rights, and involuntary processes.
- Recognize the roles of providers and clinicians while providing involuntary mental health services.
- Demonstrate how to properly document an M-1 form.
